President Nixon

Nixon as a person was very smart he was a graduate from Duke University taking Law. He later on worked for the United States Navy during the World War II. Many people say he was a very hardworking man and no one ever said he was lazy, and he was also a formal guy. He also was anti - communist, which was probably a good thing! Sometimes he was a great supporter of the American Civil rights movement.
Henry Kissinger’s real name was Heinz, he was born in Germany. He moved to the United States in New York. He changed his name once he moved to the United States he then changed his name. President Nixon selected Henry Kissinger as the secretary of State on September 23rd, 1973.  Henry Kissinger was the first to be both a Secretary of State and National Security Adviser. Henry Held those positions ever sense Nixon was president. Nixon was sworn into office, on January 20th, 1969. But once President Richard M. Nixon was impeached, then President Gerald R. Ford removed Henry from being National Security Adviser but he kept him as the Secretary of State.
President Richard Nixon was a very determined man who fought to peacefully end conflicts around the world. Richard Nixon made the relationships better with the Republic of China, the Soviet Union (which is now Russia and other small counties). Around January 1969, Richard Nixon went to speak about the negotiations on some of the issues of the nuclear arms control. Nixon wanted to help and agree with the Soviet Union government to make nuclear arms limited. The “peace treaty” was called Strategic Arms Limitation Talks, also known as SALT.
The Chinese have not let anyone in the country sense it was taken from the communist around the late 1940s. Around April 1970s the Chinese world champion table tennis team and the American team were surprised to hear that the president of the United States of America (Nixon) was willing to take a trip to China after the Chinese wanted to open a new door  to the Americans, in other words make new friends or alliances. The United States was very thankful of this big opportunity. Richard M. Nixon even said it himself that we should open up more. He said “We simply cannot afford to leave China outside the family of nations”.

A lot of people argue whether or not Richard Nixon was a good president. Well I think that Nixon was a good president to some extents but after he broken some laws. President Nixon technically ruined his repetition. Richard Nixon lied and tried to hide things from the Americans, he let the U.S. citizens down. He attempted to cover it up but everyone assumed he was connected to the Watergate scandal. This “Watergate Scandal” was about some burglars getting arrested inside of the Watergate building. These burglars were connected to President Nixon’s reelection campaign, they were trying to plant a bug in phones and then they would try to steal top secret documents. Some politicians tried to cover it up so that the Federal Bureau won’t investigate the scandal. But when Nixon resigned, Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon for all of the crimes he so called committed. Yet when David Frost interviewed Nixon, David was trying to have a court like interview and he wanted to get Nixon to confess that he was part of the Watergate Scandal, which he did later confess about it. I believe it made him feel a little better than he felt before, because he felt really bad about letting everyone down.
